Our Technology - Design
Supaloc® design and drafting is carried out with the highest degree of accuracy and commitment.
The department prepares framing documentation for the purposes of manufacture and on-site construction for various project types. The design and drafting department uses the latest CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture) technology to produce the electronic data to drive its roll forming machines.
This software enables draftspersons to use a program that is specifically customised to the Supaloc system. The design and drafting department works closely with its in-house Software Programmer, providing constant development to the Steel Building System’s CAD program.
All documentation produced by the design and drafting department is certified by a third party engineer, which satisfies the requirements of private certifiers and councils.
All of SBS International's product design changes are developed in-house and any necessary prototyping is performed in a fully equipped engineering work shop. The workshop not only has a machine shop but there are also various testing jigs to enable structural capacity testing of the Supaloc products. These include a hydraulic push/pull test rig and an air-bag test bed for wind load testing of walls. If there are any tests which cannot be performed in-house, then our relationship with BlueScope Steel enables us to utilise their test laboratory in New South Wales.
